The Year Ahead: Center Stage On Tour & In Your Community in 2023

In 2023, twelve Center Stage ensembles from six different countries and regions will tour the U.S., engaging with diverse American communities as they transcend borders and build cross-cultural connections.

FEBRUARY-JULY 2023: TOURS BY ENSEMBLES FROM ARGENTINA, ARMENIA, AND TAIWAN

With the sixth edition of Center Stage already underway starting with Fémina’s month-long tour in fall 2022, our program is excited to present five more ensembles who will tour the U.S. during the first half of 2023. Twincussion, MVF Band, the Naghash Ensemble, Cachitas Now!, and Resident Island Dance Theatre will travel coast to coast, visiting large and small communities from February to July with stops including Washington, DC; Albuquerque and Santa Fe, NM; Lee, MA; Yakima, WA; Hanover, NH; Los Angeles, CA; and New York City, NY. 

The first tour of 2023 kicks off with Twincussion’s performance on February 1st at the Kennedy Center’s Millennium Stage in Washington, DC – which will be livestreamed on Facebook.

The second half of the year will feature tours from ensembles selected for the seventh edition of Center Stage, hailing from Ethiopia, Philippines, and South Africa.

Independent, month-long U.S. tours are being scheduled now! Artist fees, international and domestic travel, and logistics (including visas and CWAs) are fully managed and substantially underwritten.

NEW IN 2023: ARTISTS IN RESIDENCE

New this year, Center Stage has selected two ensembles to participate in the program as “Artists in Residence.” Artists from Ethio Classic Quartet (Addis Ababa, Ethiopia) & Tanghalang Pilipino (Pasay City, Philippines) will deepen their creative practice and build peer relationships and professional networks through two-week intensives.
